Wow! What an absolutely fabulous event!  It was so great to see so many of our community out enjoying the day and meeting their neighbours. Many people commented on how great it was and how much they would love to see more of this type of thing. I even recruited a new member to the board of directors, who would like to help lead some more events.

Hats off to Hans Looije and family for gathering many of the items needed for the event. Edythe Gerrard was brilliant with the kids and the button maker! Lynn Wilson’s husband, Charlie, barbequed up a storm and her kids kept the kids safe and entertained with bubbles, chalk, and in the bouncy castle. My son Jack was proud to be involved in serving the beverages (might take after his dad—although I think his dad’s beverages might be a bit different.)

Our sponsors were outstanding. The line-up for Cycle Solutions never stopped! So many neighbours now have a better sense of the bicycle paths available to them due to Ward 32 Spokes. The police created a challenging maze for the kids and demonstrated that it could actually be done! Lee Welbanks came through in a big way with the bouncy castle, coffee and kids giveaways. Thank you so much to each and every one of you!

A massive thank you to Lynn Wilson: Her passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to the success of this event are how we were able to pull this off. It is this type of community gathering that brings people together and creates a connected neighbourhood.

What’s Next….We are planning a Christmas Event in early December…Check your mailboxes for details! And a kickoff to a Summer event in June.
